The Black Rock is an old slaver ship that has mysteriously shipwrecked in the middle of the jungle and has become overgrown by various plants and trees. |

| My Objectives: |
I had struggled with creating foliage in previous projects that looked decent in-game so I decided to choose this scene to increase my skills in the plant-making category. I started out by making the ship in 3dMax. Then created a number of different Alpha planes and turned them into individual leaves, branches, stems, vines, grass, background bushes, and background mountains after cutting out various textures from pictures of plants in Photoshop. Then I created different types of plants out of those alphas, and imported and placed them into Unreal. After that I tried out different types of lighting, and then experimented with creating clouds, the sun, sun rays, and sun flares. After that I threw in some dynamite crates spilling out of the hole in the side of the ship to give it more of a story. |
